Well, at least the Ravens kept Joe Flacco. But not much else.

Just days after the Super Bowl winning quarterback struck it rich with a new contract, the other shoe has dropped in Baltimore.

Yesterday, they traded away wide receiver Anquan Boldin to the 49ers for a sixth-round pick, this after telling Boldin he needed to take a major paycut to remain with the Ravens.

And today, they lost two prominent defensive players - free agent linebackers Paul Kruger, the team's leading pass rusher in the playoffs, and inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

Kruger signed with the Browns, while Ellerbe, who had been considered the top free agent target of the Ravens, bolted for Miami.

All three players were major contributors in the Ravens' Super Bowl run. And while keeping Flacco was clearly the most pressing need, the resultant loss of salary cap space absolutely impacted their ability to retain three key players from their 2012 team.
