Reports: Arrest warrant for Hernandez

Massachusetts State Police returned to the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez on Wednesday, two days after a body was found about a mile away. (June 19)

Multiple news outlets are reporting that authorities in Marlborough, Mass. have issued an arrest warrant for Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who has been linked to the murder of a 27-year-old man on Monday.

WBZ in Boston and ABC News reported that Hernandez will be arrested on charges of obstruction of justice. Various reports have indicated that Hernandez, who was believed to have been with Odin Lloyd the night he was murdered, destroyed potential evidence in the case.

A cleaning service was at Hernandez's home on Monday, and the tight end reportedly tried to destroy a home surveillance system. In addition, his cell phone was handed over to police in pieces.

Hernandez has so far been uncooperative with authorities. It is uncertain whether the arrest warrant will change that. It is also possible that additional charges will be filed as the case proceeds.

UPDATE (10:46 am): Per the Attleboro clerk of court, NO arrest warrant has been filed for Hernandez.
