We sent our critics out in search of the best soups on Long Island. Here are their recommendations.

    Phayathai $$ 735 Hawkins Ave. Lake Ronkonkoma Chef-owner Veerawat Satsri's tom yum goong, the classic Thai shrimp hot and sour soup, is both ringing hot and rife with subtleties, and his tom kha gai (chicken coconut soup) has a sly electric undercurrent all its own.
