Stony Brook falls in OT to Charleston Southern

John Pagli's 43-yard field goal in overtime gave Charleston Southern a 30-27 win and Stony Brook its first Big South loss of the season Saturday.

The Seawolves (5-5, 4-1) had tied it at 27 on Wes Skiffington's 18-yard field goal with 12:46 left in regulation.

"We do not like losing, but we hung tough and I'm proud of our guys," Stony Brook coach Chuck Priore said.

A.J. Toscano threw for 214 yards and a touchdown to lead Charleston Southern (5-5, 3-2). Edwin Gowins ran for 177 yards and two scores and Conte Cuttino had 163 yards and a touchdown for Stony Brook.

The second-place Seawolves will host Liberty on Saturday needing a win to earn a share of the conference title.

Nassau CC 22, ASA College (Brooklyn) 19:Nakita Myles' 3-yard TD at 9:26 in the second quarter gave 13th-ranked Nassau CC (8-2) a 20-10 lead. They scored the final two points with a safety on the ensuing kickoff, tackling the returner in the end zone. Up 22-17 and facing a fourth down from their 5 with 1:05 left, Nassau snapped the ball out of the end zone rather than risk a blocked punt, assistant coach Joe Osovet said. ASA (6-2) fumbled on the return and Winston Longdon recovered it.
