Eli Manning capped an epic game-winning drive against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII by hitting Plaxico Burress for a 13-yard touchdown. Manning exploited the single coverage on Burress by Patriots cornerback Ellis Hobbs to give the Giants a 17-14 lead with 35 seconds left.

Down 17-0 in Super Bowl XXXV, the Giants needed an offensive spark, and they got it from Ron Dixon. Dixon returned a kickoff 97 yards for the Giants’ only score in a 34-7 loss to the Ravens. Baltimore’s Jermaine Lewis took the ensuing kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown.

Trailing 10-9 heading into the second half of Super Bowl XXI, the Giants set up for a punt on their opening drive. Backup quarterback Jeff Rutledge took the snap before it reached punter Sean Landeta and ran for the first down. The Giants scored a touchdown on the drive and went on for the 39-20 win over Denver.

The Giants put the game away in Super Bowl XXI with a touchdown early in the fourth quarter off a lucky bounce. Phil Simms threw a 6-yard pass that tipped off tight end Mark Bavaro's fingertips and deflected right into the arms of a sliding Phil McConkey for the score. The Giants took a 33-10 lead and cruised to their first ever Super Bowl win.

The Broncos led 10-7 and had the ball at the Giants’ 1-yard line early in the second quarter of Super Bowl XXI. On first down, Lawrence Taylor broke through the line and sacked John Elway for a 4-yard loss. The Giants’ defense stopped Denver the next two plays, and Broncos kicker Rich Karlis missed the 23-yard field goal, keeping the score the same.

The undefeated Patriots had a chance to put up another score before halftime in Super Bowl XLII. Tom Brady drove the Pats into Giants’ territory, but with 22 seconds left, Justin Tuck sacked Brady and forced a fumble. Osi Umenyiora recovered the fumble and sent the Giants into the locker room trailing just 7-3.

Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms finished the game 22-for-25 passing with 268 yards and three touchdowns as the Giants routed the Broncos 39-20. Simms’ 88 percent completion rate is a Super Bowl record. He also was the first NFL player to use the famous phrase, “I’m going to Disney World.”

Down 12-10 to the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV, the Giants put together a 14-play, 75-yard drive to open the second half. The key play was a third-and-13 conversion from Jeff Hostetler to wide receiver Mark Ingram. Ingram broke five tackles on the play and gained 14 yards — just enough for the first down. Running back Ottis Anderson culminated the drive with a 1-yard touchdown.

The Giants led 20-19 late in Super Bowl XXV with the Bills driving to the Giants’ 29-yard line for a 47-yard, game-winning field goal. Scott Norwood’s kick had the distance, but not the accuracy. It sailed wide right and gave the Giants their second Super Bowl victory.

But after he jumped into the air and pinned the ball to his helmet to keep the Giants’ final drive alive, Tyree became a household name. The 32-yard pass play, which also involved Eli Manning eluding three potential sacks, set up the Super Bowl winning touchdown and ended undefeated New England’s quest for a perfect season.
