Now that the Texans will be without Brian Cushing (pictured) for the first month of the season as he serves a four-game suspension for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs, the team has reinforced their linebacker group by signing Giants free agent Danny Clark to a one-year deal.

The Giants had no plans to bring back Clark, 31, who plays the same outside linebacker position as Cushing. It's uncertain whether Clark will immediately step in, although it seems at this point that head coach Gary Kubiak will take a look at 2008 fourth-round pick Xavier Adibi and Kevin Bentley. There had been speculation that Zac Diles would take over, but Kubiak said he will remain as the team's weakside linebacker.
