Charlie Robson, the executive director of the Metropolitan Professional Golfers Association, and longtime broadcaster Ed Ingles will be honored by the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association June 18 at the Westchester Marriott.
Robson, of Garden City, is the longest tenured head of any PGA section in the country and will receive the Distinguished Service Award. Ingles, of Freeport, was sports director at WCBS radio for 24 years and recently has been professional in residence at Hofstra. He will be presented the Lincoln Werden Golf Journalism Award.
The Syosset-Woodbury and Plainview-Old Bethpage Chambers of Commerce will hold their annual golf outing for Syosset Hospital and Plainview Hospital of North Shore-LIJ on May 13.
