No question the Masters people set up the course to provide excitement yesterday. Lots of easy pin positions, tees up almost everywhere. There was a rough thunderstorm last night (a tip of the cap to Augusta National, providing shuttle service to reporters with in carts that were enclosed).

Anyway, the rain would make you think that the course would be even softer today. Fred Couples mentioned yesterday that the c;loud cover prevented the normal baking effect the sun provides, thus making it a bit easier. The pin placements are tougher, though.

Of the leaders, Nick Watney is the only one out there and he has four pars so far. Fiftysomething Sandy Lyle, among those who had surprisingly good rounds and leaderboard showings yesterday, is 8 over par so far through five holes.

Should make it interesting. Freddy just teed off, Tiger begins at 10:35.
