Rob Gick goes 24 holes to reach LI PGA semis
It wasn't quite a round-and-a-half, but it was getting there. Before the sky opened and rain postponed the semifinals of the Long Island PGA Championship to Thursday morning, Rob Gick of Sands Point Golf Club and Scott Wise of Rockaway Hunting Club went 24 holes in their quarterfinal match at the Mill River Club .
Gick won, and earned the right to face host pro Mark Mielke in one semifinal. Rick Hartmann and Matt Dobyns will play in the other one. The championship match will be Thursday afternoon.
