Who says golf is not a team sport?

Tallgrass Golf Course in Shoreham is the latest to join with a high-end inn for a Stay & Play luxury package. Tallgrass recently made a joint announcement with the Inn & Spa at East Wind in Wading River to promote the venture.

The course and inn are offering preferred rates and tee times for hotel guests and a range of comforts for golfers: indoor swimming pool, 50-minute hot stone massage, plush robe and slippers. It is another example of area courses being creative to attract golfers — and outings — in a competitive climate.

Two years ago, the private Cold Spring Country Club announced an arrangement with the neighboring Oheka Castle.

Tallgrass is a links-style public course designed by architect Gil Hanse, a Long Island native. It was recently included, for the second consecutive year, among Golfweek magazine’s Top 10 Best Courses You Can Play in New York State.
