Amid speculation that many Long Island golf courses are in danger of being shuttered, just over an hour ago comes word that Tallgrass Golf Club in Shoreham has new management. The RDC Golf Group of Monroe Township, N.J. just announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement to run the club.

That is a reassuring breath of fresh air, which means that Tallgrass is not on the chopping block for a few years.

Sad to report that the Links at Shirley, on the opposite end of William Floyd Parkway from Tallgrass, has a "Closed for the Season" sign. And indications are that "the season" means "for good." More on this when we find out.
