Because it's pretty clear that Tiger Woods isn't looking to exactly hold a town hall meeting or do a series of one-on-ones with TMZ and The Insider, you have to wonder where he will make his return to competitive golf.

Given that he is making his first public comment under some pretty heavy wraps Friday, do you think he is going to take the plunge into a media maelstrom? His best bet might be The Masters, which does not offer a credential to just anybody who applies. If you're not on the list by now for Augusta in April, you ain't going to be.

But here's another thought: How about Woods deciding to play at the Malaysia Open March 4-7? He is no stranger to the Asian and European Tours, which co-sponsor that event? Woods wouldn't get a swarm of American media over there.

Then again, the tabloids that he would like most to evade would have no hesitation about going there.
