"I'm a Champions Tour guy," Tom Watson said on Golf Channel, explaining why he is picking Fred Couples, 50, to win the Masters.

Watson added, "This is not tongue in cheek."

It's more like ball-in-hole. Watson, of course, nearly won the British Open last year. So his reasoning is that Couples can win the Masters. Watson, the only one to have beaten Couples on the 50-and-over circuit this year (Couples has played four and won three) said Freddie is making four footers all over the place and that the ball doesn't know if it's on the Champions Tour or PGA Tour when it is rolling in from four feet.

Good point. Except that four footers at Augusta National are really, really tough to make because of the speed and slope. So don't bet your life savings on Freddie winning next week.

But it sure would be fun.
