Kellenberg's '99 'A' title broke 11-year drought. Can it get back-to-back

crowns for first time since '87-88?

Both Rich Reichert and Bill Basel became the head coaches at their schools

in 1987, and each has more than 80 wins. Reichert is 89-42-3 at St. Anthony's;

Basel is 81-42-1 at Chaminade.

The Catholic schools represent just 4.5 % of the high schools on Long

Island that play football, and have won 7.1 % of the combined totals of the

Thorpe and Hansen award winners; 3 of the 59 Thorpe award winners, and 4 of the

40 Hansen award winners.
