Long Beach, singles

Took home the state singles championship, defeating Matt Kandath of Albany Academy (Section II) 7-6 (7), 2-6, 6-3 in the final. Kreyman dropped only three sets the entire season, including the state tournament. Also the Nassau singles champion for the past two seasons, Kreyman, who will plat at Wake Forest, went 23-0 this year and has lost only one match in two seasons, the 2008 final to Kandath.

ZACH MORRIS Garden City Morris, who has played

Garden City

Morris, who has played first singles at Garden City since seventh grade, finished second in the county behind Danny Kreyman and advanced to his second-straight state tournament. He went 11-0 during the regular season for Garden City and is one of the early favorites to win next season's Nassau title.

Suffolk champion was 17-0 before losing in Long Island championship. Upset top-seeded Brendan Ruddock in the county final.

The Suffolk county runner-up and Division II champion, went undefeated in the regular season for the T-Birds, earned the No. 1 seed in the county tournament and didn't lose until the Suffolk County finals. Finished in fifth place at the state tournament and graduates as one of LI's most accomplished players. Will play at Minnesota next season.

Syosset, doubles

The Nassau County champions teamed together for the first time all year at the County tournament and won it all. The duo bounced back from a first round loss at the state tournament to win the consolation bracket for the second straight season, defeating Matt Celentano and Matt Imbo of Islip in the final. Milo is bound for Brandeis and Wang to CCNY.

The 2007 state consolation bracket champions made it back to the state tournament this season, after finishing second in Nassau County. The duo advanced to the second round of the state tournament, where they lost to the eventual state runner-ups in a tiebreaker. During the season Morgenstern (right), a junior, played first singles and Kattan, a senior who will play at Bucknell, played second singles, with each dropping just two matches.

Commack, doubles

The state doubles champions went a combined 62-0 between doubles and singles this season, while splitting their time between doubles and the top two singles spots for the Suffolk County champion Cougars. Won the state title with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Christopher Frost and Bryan Chow of Niskayuna (Section II). Roberts (right) will play at Duquense, Dean will attend Yale.

In his first year at the helm for Commack, Helfner guided the Cougars to their first Suffolk County title since 1990. Commack finished the year at 15-3 and features the state and county doubles champions as well as the county singles champion.
