East Meadow coach Ken Sicoli recorded the 500th win of his career after Matt Laudonio hit a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to lift the eighth-seeded Jets over No. 2 MacArthur in Game 1 of the best-of-three Class AA second round series.

Sicoli, now in his 32nd season, becomes only the seventh baseball coach in Nassau history to reach 500 wins.

"I can't even honestly remember my 100th win or 200th and so on," Sicoli said. "But we were laughing that we'll never forget this one because it was such a great game."

With the tying run on third and no outs in the bottom of the 13th, Lewis Cuello struck out two batters and induced a grounder to short to end the game. Joe Minucci threw nine innings, allowing two hits and one unearned run with nine strikeouts. Laudonio doubled to knock in Marcus Kabigting for the tying run in the sixth for East Meadow (14-7).
