It was a day of dominant pitching performances.

South Side's Andrew Misiaszek was the headliner, tossing a no-hitter with 18 strikeouts and no walks in a 3-0 victory over Hewlett in Conference A-II Monday. The only two Hewlett baserunners reached on errors.

"Andrew was dominant in the strike zone," coach Tom Smith said. "He had a great rhythm controlling his fastball. The team thrived off his performance."

It came just one week after Misiaszek set the school record with 19 strikeouts against Great Neck North.

In the County Wide league, Westbury's Kyle Spruill no-hit Elmont, allowing four walks and striking out 15 in the Green Dragons' 5-0 win over Elmont.

"He looked great," coach Todd Goodwin said. "He was dominant. He had great command of his curveball."

Sayville's Sal Zafonte hurled the final no-no, striking out eight and walking four in a 2-0 win over Westhampton in League VI.

"He did a good job mixing everything up," coach Ryan Cox said. "His curveball was on and he mixed things up with his fastball. I liked the way he competed today."
