It's that time of year again -- the time when some of Long Island's best and brightest senior athletes sign their letters of intent to play at the next level.

Wednesday, Nov. 14 marks the first day that an athlete can sign a letter of intent for college. This early signing period lasts until Wednesday, Nov. 21. After that, athletes must wait until until National Signing Day (Feb. 6, 2013) to sign their letters.

We here at Newsday are keeping track of where local athletes will be playing in college on our Class of 2013 college commitment database. You can check out where members of this year's senior class will be playing, which sports are sending the most athletes to college, and other fun things.

Want to let Long Island know where you'll be playing next year? Click here to send us your information. (You can also click here to go to the database, then click on the link in the description that says ,"Click here to submit commitment information".)
