St. Anthony’s junior Kalifa Davy recently gave a verbal commitment to play basketball at Mount St. Mary’s University, according to her coach, Ken Parham.

Davy will begin her senior year this fall. She was the third St. Anthony’s girls basketball player to commit to a Division-I school in recent months, joining teammates Charise Wilson (Northeastern) and Chastity Taylor (Delaware).

Davy, a 5-9 forward, averaged seven points and six rebounds off the bench for the Friars last season. She scored a season-high 21 points in St. Anthony's 65-62 win over St. John Vianney (N.J.) in February.

“She was the sixth man,” Parham said, “but she played starter’s minutes.” Davy helped lead St. Anthony’s to a third consecutive CHSAA league title.

Mount St. Mary’s reached the NEC Tournament semifinals. US News & World Report ranked the university 23rd among schools in the northeast region.
