The Suffolk Class AA quarterfinal softball game between top-seeded Bay Shore and No. 4 Hauppauge at Fifth Avenue Elementary School was called during the top of the third inning Friday because of rain.

Play will resume Saturday at 3 p.m. with the game scoreless and runners on first and second with one out and Hauppauge's Catherine Vaughan batting. Kaitlyn Snyder and Lauren Mendez drew walks to start the inning.

Hauppauge's Lauren Buturla allowed two hits in two scoreless innings. Bay Shore's Michelle DeVito allowed one hit and struck out four through 2 1/3 innings.

Umpires met and at first decided to clear the field and delay the game in hopes that the storm would pass. The postponement was announced minutes later.

The Suffolk class A winner’s bracket final between No. 1 Miller Place and No. 2 Eastport-South Manor was suspended after 3 1/2 innings.

The game will resume today at noon with Miller Place at bat and leading 6-5.
