Bay Shore defeated Northport,16-6, Thursday to remain undefeated in Division I. The Marauders (7-0) jumped out to an 11-4 lead at halftime and never looked back.
“We played hard throughout the game,” Bay Shore coach Allison Pfeffer said. “Our gameplan was to jump out and take the lead so we could control the ball. Northport has a very good attack and we didn’t want them to have the ball.”

And it’s the return of the “Manager shout-out” posts. During Wednesday’s Freeport vs. Roslyn girls lacrosse game, I was compelled to bring it back and give kudus to Alanna Gordon and Helena Pearlmutter.
Those two, players out with injuries, did the scorebooks for their respective teams and were very helpful and pleasant.

Nassau boys lacrosse top performers for the period April 9-15:
1. Tim Muller, Chaminade
After Chaminade’s win against Manhasset last week, coach Jack Moran said, “People sitting in the stands look for stats, but our kids know they get to play on offense because we’re really good on the other end.”
Senior Tim Muller is a big reason why. He held Manhasset’s top scorer, Mike Fahey,...

Some shakeup in our rankings this week after Ward Melville belted Smithtown West on Monday, 13-4. West Islip isn’t done yet, either, as its 7-6 comeback victory over previously unbeaten Northport demonstrated. Sayville also suffered its first loss last week and has a big game at Comswewogue on Thursday night.

And here goes another batch of awesome – this week’s installment of Players of the Week. A tribute to the girls who made us “Ring the Alarm” and admire the way they’ve managed to “Upgrade” their teams. (For real, this might be the last week of the Beyonce theme. I’m running out of song titles to pun.)
As always, feel free to hit us up via e-mail or on Twitter (@StephenHaynes4 and @AlbaneseLaura)...

1. Garden City (6-0) They're at it again, silencing the doubts. The 6-0 start with wins over Manhasset and Massapequa earns them the top spot. 2. Manhasset (4-1) A week ago, the Indians looked a team capable of running the table. One loss doesn't change everything - certainly not a 10-9 defeat in overtime - but their standing does take a hit. 3. Farmingdale (4-0) The Dalers have quietly gone about...
