Ian Cutler
Ian Cutler joined Newsday in September 2011 as part of the high school sports team and has covered hockey, tennis and gymnastics. Prior to coming to Newsday, he briefly wrote news and feature stories for Long Beach Patch after graduating from Brandeis University in May 2011.
While at Brandeis, Ian was the sports editor of his school’s newspaper, the Justice, where he covered a wide range of sports from fencing, swimming, soccer and basketball to the NHL’s Boston Bruins during their Stanley Cup season. He was also the radio play-by-play announcer for the Brandeis basketball, baseball and softball teams his senior year.
Ian is a Long Island native who grew up on local sports. The highlight of his athletic career came at age 11, when he pitched three no-hit innings in a little league playoff game.
