Garden City girls fencing looks to defend county title in 2014

Garden City girls fencing has a little bit of everything, from a former county champion to a sophomore duo that evokes memories of Mariano Rivera and John Wetteland.

Last year, the Garden City boys swimming team won the Nassau championship. They're looking to repeat that accomplishment this year.

Nassau boys soccer postseason opening matchups

Four outbracket games kicked off the 2013 Nassau boys' soccer postseason Thursday, featuring Class A wins by Sewanhaka, Lynbrook, Floral Park and Clarke.

All opening round Class A games take place on Oct. 25, as top-seeded Wantagh hosts No. 16 Clarke at 2:30 p.m.
