The Bethpage senior forward scored his 1,000th career point during the fourth quarter of a boys basketball game against Floral Park last Friday. You can't just rack up wins willy nilly in high school gymnastics. Even on the best of years, the most you'll get is 10 or so, depending on schedule and powers that be. And in a sport as capricious as this one, not every year can be the best of years.

Bethpage head coach Chrissy Bennett knew she had a talented group of sophomores two seasons ago.

Four outbracket games kicked off the 2013 Nassau boys' soccer postseason Thursday, featuring Class A wins by Sewanhaka, Lynbrook, Floral Park and Clarke.
All opening round Class A games take place on Oct. 25, as top-seeded Wantagh hosts No. 16 Clarke at 2:30 p.m.
