Long Island will send three boys basketball teams and two girls basketball teams to the state tournament this weekend. Below is the full weekend schedule:

BOYS BASKETBALL (all games at Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y.)

Class AA: Brentwood vs. Green Tech, Saturday, March 15 at 2:15 p.m.

Mepham's Morris hits two clutch free throws to secure conference title

Alexa Morris didn’t just walk up to the free throw line, she ran to it.

Lauren "Boogie" Brozoski, the reigning Newsday Long Island Player of the year in Girls Basketball, has committed to play at the University of Michigan for the 2015-2016 season, she confirmed to Newsday via text.

Brozoski, a junior, led Long Island Lutheran to the state Federation Class A Championship last season while averaging nearly 20 points, six assists and two steals per game.
