Last year, the Garden City boys swimming team won the Nassau championship. They're looking to repeat that accomplishment this year.

Last year, superstorm Sandy severely affected Long Beach. This year, the town has been rebuilding and many residents are back in their homes that were once stockpiled with sand and water.

The Thunderbirds finished undefeated in League II, 5-0, and competed against the best in the league on Friday in the League II swimming and diving championship in Deer Park.
