It was a perfect afternoon for a pair of high school bowlers on Long Island.

Sewanhaka District's Rebecca Gotterbarn and East Meadow's Vinny Napolitano rolled 300s Thursday.

Gotterbarn continued her torrid season as she rolled a 300 in the first game of a 762 series for Sewanhaka District in a 3-0 win over Carle Place in a Nassau Conference II girls bowling match.

It was the second perfect game this season and the fifth of the Carey junior's career.

Gotterbarn, who has qualified for the state tournament team every season since the seventh grade, rolled 300 in a 3-0 win over Mineola on Nov. 27. "When her ball hits the pocket, it explodes," coach Jay Hegi said. "She throws a real powerful shot."
