Tajric Boggs, Longwood’s outstanding point guard and a key player for Newsday’s No. 2-ranked boys basketball team, was unavailable for Wednesday night’s Suffolk Class AA championship game against No. 1 Half Hollow Hills West at Farmingdale State because of a broken foot.

Boggs suffered the injury in the first half of the Lions’ semifinal victory over Lindenhurst on Sunday. Boggs and Darien Davis form one of the best starting backcourts on Long Island and Boggs is the team’s best penetrating guard.

A capacity crowd of 4,000 is expected for the game that matches two teams who have not lost a game on Long Island all season. Hills West is 21-0; Longwood is 19-2, with its two losses coming in a tournament at Baltimore.
