Haley Ferchland had seven points, including a layup with 20 seconds left to help Centereach hold off Mattituck, 45-42, Saturday in a non-league girls basketball game.

Ferchland's shot gave Centereach the final margin. Mattituck's last-second three-point attempt fell short as time expired.

Jackie Buzaid led Centereach with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Ferchland added three rebounds and three assists and Courtney Buoncore had eight points and three rebounds in the win.

Ally Wilcenski had 11 points and Shannon Dwyer led Mattituck with 10 points.

East Hampton 31, Westhampton 29: Ashley Rojas hit two free throws with five seconds left to win it for East Hampton in its season opener. Kaylen Ward had seven of her 16 points in the second half as East Hampton overcame a 17-13 halftime deficit. Courtney Bess and Carley Seekamp each had four points in the win. Brooke Alpert led Westhampton with 12 points. St. John the Baptist 48, Bellport 43: Sydney Zambrotta had 12 points, six rebounds and seven steals as host St. John Baptist outscored Bellport 14-10 in the fourth for the win in the Under Armour Classic. Lauren Williams added 11 points and five steals for the Cougars, who trailed 34-33 after three quarters. Arella Guirantes had 22 points and Asia Roundtree added 11 for Bellport.

Brooklyn Collegiate 48, Our Lady of Mercy 30: Samantha Lynch scored 13 points for OLMA at the Under Armour Classic at St. John the Baptist.Long Island Lutheran 66, Midwood 32: Gracie Stone had seven points and five assists and Sade Gibbons added eight points and five rebounds to lead Lutheran at the Under Armour Classic.

Garden City 41, Long Beach 23: Samantha Auricchio scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Garden City in the Syosset Invitational championship game. Becky Reifler scored eight points and Taylor Carpentier had 11 rebounds for the Trojans.Syosset 45, Hicksville 29: Rachel Quinn had 12 points and five steals and Gabriella Galasso had eight points and five assists to lead Syosset in the consolation game of the Syosset Invitational. Elise Maturo added six points and eight rebounds in the win.

Sayville 60, Half Hollow Hills West 50: Amy Dean scored eight of her 22 points during an 18-12 fourth quarter to lead Syosset in non-league. Dean went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, Erin MacDevitt chipped in 11 points and five steals and Kathleen Barry had 11 points.

MacArthur 45, Oceanside 26: Kristen Politi (four points) had a steal and two free throws during the final three minutes of a 14-7 third quarter to help lift MacArthur in non-league. Jena Cozza had 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and Stephanie Volpe had five points and 10 rebounds in the win.Kellenberg 46, Smithtown West 29: Candace Belvedere had 16 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals and Taylor Casey chipped in 12 points for Kellenberg in non-league.

St. Mary's 61, Preston 38: McKayla Hernandez scored 12 points to lead St. Mary's in the St. Dominic Winter Classic. Mei-Lyn Bautista added 11 points and Elizabeth Limonta had 10 rebounds for St. Mary's, which bolted to a 33-14 halftime lead.Valley Stream North 40, Valley Stream South 36: Dana Morgante had 14 points, nine steals and four assists as North overcame a nine-point third quarter deficit for the win in non-league. Lauren Collura added 13 points in the win.

Hauppauge 52, Babylon 26: Julie Williams scored all of her 23 points in the first half and had six assists to lead Hauppauge in non-league on Friday night.

Eastport-South Manor 33, Mercy 19: Nijay Brown had seven points and Diamond Rodriquez had four points, eight rebounds and two assists for Eastport-South Manor on Friday night.

East Meadow 54, Lynbrook 27: Jen Gundrum had 15 points and was one of four players that scored in double figures to lead East Meadow in non-conference on Friday. Crista Sanantonio had 12 points, Marrol Cajoles added 11 points and Gabby Heim chipped in 10 points in the win.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Floyd 49. Lindenhurst 33: Devin Burney scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Floyd in the Floyd Colonial Classic final. Burney was named tournament MVP. Devonte Dixon chipped in 15 points in the win.

Mercy 42, Shelter Island 33: Nykel Reese had 17 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 blocks in the consolation game of the Floyd tournament. Reese was named to the All-Tournament team. Asaiah Wilson added seven points and six assists in the win.Long Island Lutheran 53, John Carroll 42: Tim Quashie led Lutheran with a game-high 17 points and three steal. Kentan Facey added 11 points and ten rebounds and Chris Atkinson chipped in 13 points and four assists.Kellenberg 61, John Bowne 45: Jeremy Arthur scored 26 points on 10 of 18 shooting and had 11 rebounds to lead Kellenberg in non-league. Bryan Gellineau scored 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting and 14 rebounds in the win.

Roslyn 67, Mepham 42: Mark Gjonlekaj had 24 points and 20 rebounds in the win to lift Roslyn in non-league. Neil Cohen added 12 points, 10 assists and five steals and Harris Silverstein had 13 points in the win.

Central Islip 82, Copiague 57: Tim McKenzie led Central Islip with 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Ishiah Booker scored 17 points and Malcolm Pridgeon hauled in 14 rebounds in the victory.Bayport-Blue Point 84, Ross 24: Connor Panzner had 19 points and Dylan Adams added 17 points for Bayport-Blue Point in non-league. Moses Fletcher added 10 points for the win. Wantagh hit a three as time expired in the fourth quarter to force the extra session. Jovanni Moreno, Nino Rodriguez and Te'Korey Smith each had eight points in the win.

WRESTLING

Goldman goes undefeated. Port Washington's Sam Goldman (113 pounds) went 3-0 at the Hank Harris Memorial Tournament and was named the most outstanding wrestler. Mike LaNasa (132) had the most pins in the least amount of time with three in 1:59.

Cooksey wins. MacArthur's Justin Cooksey won the 126-pound final and was named the most outstanding wrestler of the MacArthur Tournament.
