**FINAL**: Harborfields has won the Long Island Class A title for the first time in program history with a 67-49 win over Manhasset.

McLeod led Harborfields with 24 points. Manhasset scored 18 second-half points, and Troia, who finished with 21 points, scored all but four of them.

The Tornadoes will play Section I's Byram Hills at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday in the state semifinals at th Glens Falls Civic Center.

Stay tuned for the Class AA final coming up next between Half Hollow Hills West (17-5) and Elmont (18-2).

**UPDATE**: At the end of the third quarter, Harborfields leads 47-31. Manhasset's only points of the quarter came on Troia's three-point play with 56.1 seconds remaining. The Tornadoes started the quarter on an 12-0 run, including two hoops from Matt McLeod, who has 16 points, and Justin Ringen (eight).

McLeod ended the period with five straight points on a three-pointer from the right wing and a layup off a steal.

**UPDATE**: At halftime, Harborfields leads 30-28. A 6-0 run, including two Woodhouse layups off steals, put the Tornadoes up 29-23. But a Tibbs bucket and Anthony Amitrano's three-pointer for Manhasset closed it to one before Nick Fessenden hit 1 of 2 from the line to make it 30-28.

Woodhouse has scored 15 points for Harborfields, while Tibbs leads Manhasset with 12. Harborfields is 4 of 6 from the line, while Manhasset is 4 of 7.


Good afternoon boys basketball fans.

I'm here at Stony Brook, where Manhasset (19-2) and Harborfields (19-2) are tied at 14 after the first quarter of the Long Island Class A title game.

Harborfields led 12-4 with 3:33 left in the period, but Manhasset went on a 10-2 run, including a 9-0 stretch to close out the quarter.

Lucas Woodhouse leads the Tornadoes with six points, while Alessandro Troia (pictured) and Gary Tibbs each have six for Manhasset.
