High School Boys Basketball
Newsday runs a full-court press on Long Island high school boys basketball.
St. Mary's, Newsday's No. 1-ranked boys basketball team, tries to remain unbeaten when it faces Chaminade on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Hofstra in the CHSAA championship game.
The contest will be televised live on MSG Varsity (Cablevision Ch. 14).

The playoffs are right around the corner, and the jockeying for seeding has made for some down-to-the-wire conference action.
Where do we stand in Nassau? Well, St. Mary's (still the only undefeated team on the Island) and Lutheran keep rolling. In the publics, Baldwin looks like the favorite, although the Bruins play in the weakest of the three Class AA conferences.

Due to the inclement weather and testing, we haven't had much action among the top 10 squads this past week.
So guess what that means? Only one minor change in the top 10. Massapequa lost to the second time in three games last Thursday, a 50-47 decision at Farmingdale, and finds itself on the bubble this week. Elmont, winner of eight straight, joins the club at No. 9.
