Newsday runs a full-court press on Long Island high school boys basketball.
Saturday's Long Island Class AA championship game between Half Hollow Hills West and Uniondale is now set for a 4:30 p.m. tip on Saturday at Hofstra. This is a small change from the 4 p.m. start time that was originally scheduled.

Even though St. John the Baptist was upset by Holy Trinity in the CHSAA playoffs, I’m leaving them at No. 3 because the Cougars had an outstanding season. But I’ve moved Wyandanch up to No. 5 based on their nice playoff run that has earned them the Class B title and put them into Wednesday’s ABCD title game against Harborfields. No changes in our rankings as we enter the final week of the regular season for all schools listed here except St. John the Baptist of the CHSAA, which continues league play for another week. While most of the public school league races are decided, there’s plenty of jockeying for playoff spots or higher seeds.
