*Hills West wins, 63-60, and advances to the  NYSPHSAA Class AA state semifinal. The Colts (23-1) play the winne of Jamestown vs. Rochester East HS on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Arena.

Welcome to Newsday's live blog fo the Long Island Class AA championship. Suffolk Class AA champ Half Hollow Hills West (22-1) will take on Nassau Class AA champ Uniondale (17-3).

Tennessee-bound Tobias Harris leads Hills West, while sophomore point guard Shaq Mosley leads the charge for Uniondale.

Road to LIC: Half Hollow Hills West advanced to the LI championship game after a 77-69 win over a game Longwood team in the Suffolk AA championship game. Uniondale topped conference AA-I rival Baldwin, 64-61, to advance. The winner of this game advances to the NYSPHSAA state AA semifinal on Saturday at the Glens Falls Civic Arena.   

It is just short of a sellout at the Mack Sports Complex on Hofstra's campus. There might be 150 empty seats or so.

Starting lineups - Uniondale: Shaquille Mosley, Bolade Akingboye, Maurice Kearney, Claudy Casseus, Goey Charles.

Half Hollow Hills West: Tobias Harris, Tyler Harris, Tavon Sledge, Emile Blackman, Aaron McCree.

FIRST QUARTER: The game is going at a break-neck pace with both teams getting up and down the floor. Tobias Harris has a three and a layup and his brother Tyler has a layup. But Uniondale (Shaq Mosley, Goey Charles) has two threes and leads 10-7 with 4:37 left in the first quarter.  

It's getting a little wild as both teams are running and gunning. Tavon Sledge made an acrobatic layup and Tobias Harris drained two free throws to give Hills West an 11-10 lead with 2:52 left.

Aaron McCree hit a three and Emile Blackman made two free throws to extend Hills West's lead to 16-10 with 1:39 left.

Bolade Akinboye stopped the bleeding for the Knights with two straight layups to end the quarter. Hills West leads 16-14 after one quarter.

SECOND QUARTER: Hills West is starting to turn up the defense a little. McCree hit a long two-pointer, while Sledge dazzled the crowd with a breakaway dunk. Hills West leads, 20-14, with 6:18 left in the second. Timeout Uniondale.

The lead was cut four for Hills West, 22-18, with 3:43 left. Casseus and Romario Williams scored for Uniondale, while McCree hit another jumper for Hills West.

Anthony Rollino drained two free throws to extend Hills West's lead to 24-18 with 3:02 left in the half. Timeout Uniondale with 2:12 left in the half.

 It was more defense by Hills West as the Colts ended the half on a 7-4 run. Hills West leads 31-22 at the half.

Tobias Harris has nine points and Tavon Sledge as seven at the half for Hills West. Bolade Akingboye leads Uniondale with eight points.

THIRD QUARTER: Hills West scored four of the first six points of the third and leads 35-24 with 6:11 left in the quarter. Timeout Uniondale.

Uniondale's Akingboye hit a three, cutting the lead to 35-27, but Tobias Harris had two blocks on Uniondale's next possession and came back with a layup to give the Colts a 37-27 lead with 4:47 left in the third. Timeout.

Tobias Harris has taken over. He's scored the last eight points for Hills West and they lead, 43-29, with 3:19 left in the third. He also has four blocks in the quarter.

The onslaught continued as Harris added a layup to extend the lead. But Uniondale's Kearney hit a layup to slow things down a bit. Hills West leads 45-31 with 2:06 left in the third.

Tobias Harris picked up a technical foul for saying too much.  

Uniondale caught a second wind as Shaq Mosley hit the two technical free throws and followed up with a layup, cutting Hills West's lead to 45-35 with 1;38 left in the third.

The Knights are starting to make a run as Akingboye put back is own miss. Hills West missed a three at the buzzer, but leads 45-37 after three quarters.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Hills West defense made an early statement in the fourth as Tyler Harris hit a layup and Sledge followed with a breakaway dunk -both off of steals- to give the Colts a 49-37 lead with 6:57 left in the game. Timeout Uniondale.

Hills West has kept Uniondale at arm's length. Sledge scored on a monster tip in -he was way above the rim. Akingboye answered with a putback. Hills West leads 51-41 with 5:11 left in the game.

Things got a little testy as Akingboye picked up a technical after he was fouled by Tobias Harris. Tobias Harris  the tech free throws. Hills West still leads 51-41 with 4:56 left.

Uniondale hasn't been able to get over the hump as the Knights missed out on a chance to cut into the lead after throwing away a pass on a 3-on-1 fastbreak. Hills West took advantage as Sledge scored on a driving layup. But he had to be helped off the court after an apparent left leg injury. Hills West leads 55-44 with 2:38 left in the game.

Uniondale made one last run as Shaq Mosley (I love writing that name) hit a three and followed that with a free throw. Hills West leads 55-48 with 1:54 left in the game. Sledge re-entered the game.

Maurice Kearney hit a long jumper with 1:15 left, cutting Hills West's lead to 55-50. Hills West missed the front end of a one-and-one on the ensuing possession, but Uniondale turned the ball over. McCree hit both free throws and Hills West leads, 57-50 with 49 seconds left.  

The remainder of the game was a foul shooting display as Sledge hit four free theows and Blackman added two more for the final margin. Hills West wins, 63-50.
