Phil Balcer's 18 points lead New Hyde Park

Phil Balcer scored six of a career-high 18 points in the fourth quarter as New Hyde Park held off Plainedge, 44-36, Friday in non-league boys basketball.

John Tomascini scored 14 points, including eight in the fourth as New Hyde Park, which led 30-25 after three quarters, outscored Plainedge 14-11 in the fourth.

Jericho 83, North Shore 56: Garrett Johnson scored 36 points to lead Jericho in non-conference.
