Rye Playland amusement park opens for the season

Children and adults alike flooded the gates at Rye Playland on Saturday to be the among the first to use the amusement park after repairs from damages caused by superstorm Sandy the prior year. Despite a forecast that included rain, families arrived early to watch the Port Chester High School marching band and a procession of employees and officials make their way to the gates, where Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and his family cut the ribbon to open the park for the season.
