Sarah Ciresi leads Bethpage girls to Conference I gymnastics title

Sarah Ciresi won her ninth all-around event of the season Wednesday with a score of 33.9 as Bethpage topped Sewanhaka District, 165.90-156.65, to clinch the Nassau Conference I girls gymnastics title.

Ciresi placed first on bars (8.85), Jamie Kaletcher won the beam (8.8) and Lexi Fraher and Rachel Chao tied for first on vault (8.3) for Bethpage (10-0). Fraher also won the floor (9.05).Massapequa 157.7, Hicksville 149.15: Katie Wall won the vault with an 8.6 and took second in the all-around (32.15) to lead Massapequa (8-3) in Conference I. Julianne Smith placed second on the beam (8.3) and Sarah Woods was third on bars (7.3).BOYS BASKETBALL

Connetquot 78, Half Hollow Hills East 69: Casey Baker had 25 points and seven rebounds for Connetquot (4-5) in Suffolk League II. Junior Nick McAnally hit a career-high seven three-pointers for 21 points and Terence Thomas added 17 points and 14 rebounds in the win.

Long Island Lutheran 63, St. Anthony's 45: Mical-Ryan Boyd scored nine of his 18 points in a 21-8 fourth quarter for Lutheran (17-2) in non-league. Chris Atkinson had 13 points and Kentan Facey added seven points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wyandanch 57, Smithtown Christian 39: Symphony Paschall had 10 of her 24 points during a 17-4 fourth for Wyandanch (3-12) in non-league. Paschall added a career-high 21 rebounds, Briana Lampkins chipped in 14 points and Tiavonna James finished with 12 assists.

Southold/Greenport 63, Port Jefferson 55: Abby Sheridan scored 14 points as Southold/Greenport (8-1) took sole possession of first place in Suffolk League VII. Nicole Busso added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the win.BOYS SWIMMING

Half Hollow Hills 53, Lindenhurst 44: Max Gerber won the 1-meter dive (229.35) and Michael Mattera took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.53 for Half Hollow Hills (9-0) in Suffolk League I.
