Right Kennedy, wrong name
When Douglas Kennedy was accused of pummeling two nurses on the way to making his flight from the maternity ward at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco on Jan. 7, a lot of outlets gave the name of the lad he had swaddled.
His name has been reported as Daniel Boru Kennedy -- the middle name a tribute to the legendary Irish king who, the story goes, drove the Vikings from the Emerald Isle.
Kennedy has pleaded not guilty to the physical harassment and child endangerment charges that stemmed from the incident. And Monday, as his trial in Mount Kisco got under way, he pleaded not guilty to his child's name, too.
Douglas, 45, the 10th of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy Sr.'s 11 children, said his fifth child, born Jan. 5, is not named Daniel, as has been widely reported. The tyke's name is actually Anthony Boru Kennedy, he said during a break in the trial.
