Twelve Long Island boys players have been selected by US Lacrosse to compete in the 2012 Champion® All-American Showcase, a US Lacrosse event. The boys’ and girls’ showcases will be held as part of the ESPNHS Games, July 22-27 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

No. 2 Syosset rallied to upset No. 1 Massapequa, 14-13, in the Nassau Class A final tonight at Hofstra. Five different players socred during a 6-0 run as Syosset came from down 12-8 to take a 14-12 lead with 3:08 to go. The rosters for the the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic were released this morning. Ten players from Long Island made the boys North team, including three from No. 1 nationally ranked Garden City. The full rosters for the senior squads can be found here.

The U.S. Men's National Under-19 Lacrosse Team will compete in several June exhibition games against local all-star squads and host youth clinics at the sites. One of them will take place at Mitchell Field Stadium against a group of Long Island all-stars. The exhibition is set for 7 p.m. on June 16 with a clinic to follow on June 17 at Robbins Lane Field in Syosset.

On the same day that Chaminade lost its first game of the year, St. Anthony’s suffered its second, at the hands of Connecticut power Darien.
