Twelve teams make the postseason from Suffolk's Division I, with the top four -- No. 1 West Islip (16-0), No. 2 Ward Melville (15-1), No. 3 Smithtown West (13-3) and No. 4 Sachem North (13-3) -- getting byes to Tuesday's quarterfinal round. West Islip’s winning streak is now at 36 straight after the Lions rallied in the second half to defeat East Islip, 11-7. West Islip is 15-0 this season and should earn the top seed in the Class A playoffs as it chases its third straight state title. Before Saturday morning's Conference I tilt between Farmingdale (7-1) and Baldwin (5-3), Baldwin's 1964 team will reunite for the first time in 46 years. Gametime is at 10 a.m. The team will also be honored at halftime. Vinnie Cesareo, the team's coach who is now 87 and resides in Bethpage, will also be in attendance. Matt Kavanagh showed off a variety of moves in leading the Flyers to a 9-7 victory over host St. Anthony's in a matchup of the top two teams in the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA. Chaminade improved to 12-2 with its second victory over the Friars (11-3) this season.
