Chaminade's reign on top of Long Island lacrosse was short-lived, as the Flyers dropped an 8-7 decision at West Islip on Saturday.

But its reign atop Nassau will not end that quickly. After all, there's no shame in losing to a team that has now won 27 straight games.

All of the Flyers' goals for this season remain in tact, as they are still the front-runners for the CHSAA title.

So quickly things can change.

Garden City came into the season as the rightful owner of the Nassau throne, but has since been unseated by Chaminade, which is off to a phenomenal start.

The Trojans' 10-7 loss to Ward Melville, coupled with the Flyers' 10-5 win over rival St. Anthony's, did the trick.

MSG Varsity recently announced its plans for LIVE televised coverage of area boys lacrosse. The network will air five games involving Long Island teams this season. All will be available in HD.
