Half Hollow Hills West went into the postseason last season on a roll without a loss and scoring a ton of goals. But the top-seeded Colts, who went 16-1, lost in the Suffolk Class AA quarterfinals.

Uniondale on the rise

It was a long drought that came to an end for Uniondale last season. The Knights made the playoffs for the first time in 15 seasons and lost in the first round to Baldwin on penalty kicks.

Uniondale lost just two players from last season's team and enter the season with high expectations in Nassau Class AA. The Knights have one of the best players on Long Island in senior forward Nyder Chardonnette....

Tim Parker wins Gatorade state POY

Tim Parker was named the Gatorade New York Boys Soccer Player of the Year. The Hicksville senior had 25 goals and eight assists and led the Comets to the Nassau Class AA semifinals. The team was undefeated before losing to Farmingdale in penalty kicks in the semifinals.

The 5-10 Parker, who will play at St. John's, played all over the field for the Comets, including defender and forward....
