Combs, Hunter combine to lead Roslyn past L.I. Lutheran

Adam Combs found Isaiah Hunter on a slant route for a 27-yard touchdown pass with 1:15 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift Roslyn to a 22-14 win over Long Island Lutheran in a Nassau V game Saturday. Combs completed 5 of 9 passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns. Outside linebacker Alex Epprecht stopped a fourth-and-1 run with 2:19 left to set up Roslyn's 51-yard drive to win it. He finished with 12 tackles, including a sack and two forced fumbles for Roslyn (3-0). Epprecht also had a 26-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. Hunter had two catches for 53 yards and two scores, Thomas Davis ran for 115 yards, and Chris Snipes had 101 yards.
Jericho 21, Great Neck North 14: Chris Rodgers' 16-yard TD pass to Ian Green gave Jericho (1-2) a 21-0 lead with eight minutes left in the second quarter. Ben Wachtel ran for 186 yards on 26 carries. Rodgers completed 3 of 7 passes for 75 yards. Cornerback John Ellis had two interceptions and middle linebacker Alex Gerome made eight tackles for Jericho.
Port Washington 55, Great Neck South 28: Mike Gennusa ran for 153 yards and a TD on 13 carries to lead Port Washington (3-0) over Great Neck South (0-3). James Burns connected with Robert Reyes, who ran a slant pattern, for a 14-yard TD, which capped an 11-play drive right before halftime and gave Port Washington a 34-0 lead. David Kinneary led Port Wash with nine tackles and a sack.

Friends Academy 37, St. Dominic 0: Tyrone Perkins found a seam down the sideline for a 91-yard touchdown run to give Friends (2-1) a 14-0 lead over St. Dominic (1-2) in the second quarter Friday. Perkins finished with 193 yards on 13 carries and two TDs, including a 20-yard run in the second quarter. Corey Goldgit connected with Cam Constance on a slant route for a 33-yard TD for a 21-0 lead in the second quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Cyrus Holder stripped the ball out of the running back's hands at the 42-yard line and ran it back untouched for a 58-yard TD return, giving Friends a 37-0 lead. Austin Rossi had eight tackles and Skyler Zaken and Zach Sidaris each had six tackles. Bill Rechler ran for 80 yards and a TD on 10 carries.
