East Meadow, which set a Nassau record for points in a season with 544, was awarded the 2011 Rutgers Cup for the second time in school history Wednesday night and the first time under coach Vinny Mascia.

The Jets finished 10-2 and participated in two memorable playoff games. They dethroned 2010 Rutgers Cup winner Freeport, 34-33, in the Nassau I championship game.
