Frank Brier's touchdown gives Smithtown West win

Frank Brier caught a screen pass from Austin Kern on third-and-8 and went 54 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 7:30 left to lift Smithtown West (3-3) to a 13-10 win over East Islip (5-1) Saturday in Suffolk II. Kern went 6-for-11 for 164 yards. Logan Greco had 21 carries for 122 yards, Kyle Mathie had three receptions for 77 yards and John Pacavic hit field goals of 27 and 33 yards. Dan Cox had nine tackles.

Smithtown East 12, West Babylon 6: John Daniggelis ran a quarterback draw up the middle for a 19-yard TD in overtime to lead Smithtown East (5-1) over West Babylon (2-4). East's Kevin Schroeder hit a 40-yard field goal to tie it at 6 with 3:15 left. Daniggelis completed 11 of 16 passes for 113 yards and had 102 rushing yards on 16 attempts. Mike Kavanagh had nine tackles.

West Islip 43, N. Babylon 21: Sam Ilario ran for 172 yards and three TDs on 13 carries and completed 6 of 14 passes for 98 yards and a TD to lead West Islip (6-0) over North Babylon (3-3). Nick Aponte had 3 catches for 44 yards, including a 22-yard TD pass and added a 68-yard punt return for a TD.

Centereach 21, Copiague 18: Jeremy DeLorenzo found Brian Leonard for TD passes of 26 and 13 yards and DaShaun Odister added 146 yards and a TD on 16 carries to lead Centereach (1-5). Charles Saunders had eight tackles and a key interception on a two-point conversion attempt.

Whitman 43, H.H. Hills West 3: Dennis Bermudez had two rushing TDs and threw a 43-yard TD to Jaron Batts to lead Whitman (3-3). Kieran Elmore had five tackles and returned a fumble 23 yards for a TD. Jaron Batts had 78 yards on four carries. Michael Clark and Terhon Legros had seven tackles each. Hills West is 1-5.
