Chris Parler can score from anywhere on the field. The do-it-all sophomore is an explosion of speed and power whether it is on special teams, offense or defense. He is one of the reasons why they're pining to see Friday night's 7:30 p.m. showdown of unbeatens when Garden City travels to Long Beach in a Nassau II football game.

Garden City (5-0) sets the bar for all teams in the conference. The top-seeded Trojans graduated a ton of experience and talent and reloaded to become a force again this season. The Trojans will be front and center as MSG Varsity's Friday Night Football airs this matchup at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The Garden City defense, led by Scott D'Antonio, has the difficult task of stopping the top-scoring offense in the conference. Trojans quarterback Brett Stewart has 10 scoring passes.

East Meadow (4-1) at Farmingdale (5-0), Friday, 6:30 p.m.: The Dalers' Nation will need an extraordinary effort from linebacker Matt Dittmeier and company to stop East Meadow's Billy Andrle, who has rumbled for 550 yards and nine touchdowns. Farmingdale halfback Curtis Jenkins is off to a fantastic start with 636 yards and seven scores.

Connetquot (5-0) at Sachem East (3-2), Friday, 7 p.m.: Halfback Steven Casali is looking to go over the 1,000-yard rushing barrier against the stingy Connetquot defense. Shoreham-Wading River at Mercy, Friday, 7 p.m.: The Monarchs are 5-0 for the first time since 1976, but Shoreham and halfback Tyler Anderson, with 742 yards and 11 touchdowns, offers a stiff test for Mercy to remain unbeaten.

Sachem North at Floyd, Saturday, 2 p.m.: Quarterback A.J. Otranto has Floyd clicking with four straight wins. Super halfback Trent Crossan is still out with a leg injury.

Miller Place at Sayville, Saturday, 2 p.m.: A showdown of a pair of unbeatens in Suffolk III, features the rugged Miller Place defense and Sayville's high octane offense with halfback John Haggart, who has 686 yards and 10 touchdowns.
