Tayvon Hall rushed for 167 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead No. 2 West Hempstead to a 41-7 win over No. 7 Clarke Saturday in a Nassau IV football quarterfinal.

West Hempstead (8-1) won its first playoff game since 1986. Enrique McFarlane had eight carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

Bruce Gibbs had five carries for 81 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. West Hempstead rushed for 479 yards rushing.

Anthony Messina led West Hempstead with six tackles. West Hempstead will play No. 3 Roosevelt at Hofstra 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals. Clarke is 4-5.

Roosevelt 44, Island Trees 0: Marquell Saunders rushed for 183 yards on three carries and a touchdown and also caught a 72-yard touchdown reception to lead No. 3 Roosevelt (7-2) past No. 6 Island Trees (4-5) in the quarterfinals.

Johnnie Akins ran for 92 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Rob Hansen led with six tackles, three of which went for losses. Kyle Moore had three tackles and two interceptions and Raymond Jones added five tackles and a sack. Island Trees is 4-5.

Seaford 41, Mineola 10: Nicky Fischetti rushed 26 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead No. 1 Seaford (9-0) over No. 8 Mineola in the quarterfinals.

Quarterback Pete Adorno finished 6-for-9 for 147 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Tyler O'Donnell caught four passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Austin Quiorz ran 12 times for 63 yards and also chipped in with 11 tackles.

Seaford will play Valley Stream North in the semifinals at Hofstra. Mineola finishes 5-4.
