Senior Melijah Purvis ran for a career-high 317 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries for No. 5 North Babylon in a 35-14 win over fourth-seeded Smithtown East in a Suffolk II quarterfinal Saturday.

Purvis scored on runs of 83, 87 and 26 yards in the win. Purvis' final scoring run of 26 yards in the third quarter gave North Babylon (6-3) a 35-0 lead.

Jake Conner threw for 56 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Matt Grassa had eight tackles, Purvis had a fumble recovery, Conner had four tackles and a sack and Connor Slane had three tackles and a sack for North Babylon, which plays at No. 3 East Islip on Saturday at 1 p.m. Smithtown East is 4-5.

Riverhead 26, Whitman 13: Ryan Bitzer completed 11 of 15 passes for 149 and two touchdowns for second-seeded Riverhead in a win over No. 7 Whitman in a Suffolk II quarterfinal.

Bitzer also ran for 41 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Bitzer's first touchdown pass, a 4-yard toss to Vincent Brodeur in the first quarter, gave Riverhead (7-2) a 8-0 lead. Bitzer found Quinn Funn for a 13-yard scoring play later in the quarter to give the Blue Waves a 15-6 lead.

Jeremiah Cheatom ran 20 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns and Funn had two receptions for 51 yards and a score in the win.

Mike VanBommel had nine tackles, Jaron Greenidge added eight tackles and an interception and Brodeur had six tackles and a fumble recovery for Riverhead, which will host No. 8 West Babylon in a semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. Whitman drops to 4-5.
