Melijah Purvis scored on a 35-yard touchdown run to give North Babylon a seven-point lead en route to a 21-7 win over West Babylon Friday in Suffolk II football.

On his touchdown scamper, Purvis cut right, slipped two tackles and broke free up the middle to score. His touchdown capped a six-play drive that put the Bulldogs up 14-7 with 2:46 left in the third quarter. Purvis finished with 174 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries for North Babylon (3-2).

Jordan Myers added 115 yards on 11 rushes. Middle linebacker Matt Grassa had seven tackles and one of the Bulldogs' four interceptions. Jake Conner had two picks.

Nick Giley's 3-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Clifton Melhado tied the game for West Babylon at the half.
