Melijah Purvis scores three TDs to lead North Babylon

Melijah Purvis rushed for 152 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead North Babylon to a 32-14 win over Centereach Saturday in Suffolk II football.

North Babylon took a 14-0 lead after Eric Marzocca caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Jake Connor, who passed for 130 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards on nine carries. Connor also had two interceptions.

Marzocca had two catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Myers had eight tackles to lead North Babylon (2-0). Centereach is 0-2. East Islip 41, West Babylon 6: Matt Walter had 67 yards rushing on seven carries and two touchdowns, connected on two field goals and went 5-for-5 on extra points to lead East Islip (2-0). Casey Nolan went 7 of 11 for 154 yards and a TD, had 13 carries for 120 yards and also had an interception. Steve Walsh added 10 tackles and an interception. West Babylon is 0-2.Whitman 28, Copiague 13: Joel Aleman ran 17 times for 85 yards, three TDs and a two-point conversion to lead Whitman (1-1). Mitchell Bermudez rushed for 70 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Terhon Legros had eight tackles and an interception in the win. Copiague is 0-2.

Smithtown East 21, Smithtown West 0: Jake Koppelman ran for 85 yards on 15 carries and two TDs to lead Smithtown East (2-0). Billy Noke had 55 yards on 11 carries. Sam O'Malley had nine tackles and Mike Kavanagh added seven tackles. Peter Triolo and Jordan Harmon both had an interception. Smithtown East totaled 243 yards of offense, including 182 yards rushing. Smithtown West (0-2) was held to 89 yards of total offense.
