Rashad Tucker threw for two touchdowns, and Aaje Grayson had a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 35-yard touchdown run to lead Freeport to a 42-40 win over East Meadow in a Nassau I opener.

“It’s a huge win,” said coach Russ Cellan, whose team was the conference’s No. 4 seed in the preseason. “East Meadow is the two seed, and they’re a good team. They’re going to beat a lot of people. To come out of the gate with an inexperienced line and come out with a win, it’s a great way to start the season.”
